Fear Factory are a futuristic metal band. Rhys has been working with them for quite a while. It all started when Bill and Rhys made some remixes for them back in 1993 (Fear is the mindkiller), after that Rhys produced Demanufacture (1995), did 7 of the 12 Remixes on Remanufacture (1997), produced Obsolete (1998), did 2 remixes on the Cars Single (1999) and produced Digimortal (2001). Rhys' input on FF's studio music was way beyond just being the producer, as he also played all keyboards and engineered all the soundscapes. In studio he was basically nothing else than their fifth band member, and FF asked him more than once to become a full member. He never went on tour with them, their tour keyboarder was a guy called John Bechdel who had also worked with Killing Joke and Prong before. Rhys also appeared on the FF DVD here and there. Fear Factory split up in 2002. A Rarities Compilation "Hatefiles" was put out in 2003. The band have now reformed without former guitarist Dino Cazares their collaboration with Rhys has happened in a reduced form on "Digimortal" (2001). Rhys seems to play a minor role on their forthcoming "Archetype" (April 2004) album.
For your info: The 2 FF releases "Soul Of A New Machine" and "Concrete"are not listed here, because they were done before and without the Rhys Fulber input.
